Woods first came to prominence as a beauty queen, winning the titles of Mission Texas Teen United States of America and Mission Teen United States of America 1996. During her reign, Woods traveled extensively throughout the United States and made appearances for charity, giving up her title in August 1997, when she crowned Shelly Moore of Tennessee as Mission Teen United States of America 1997 in her home state, Texas.

In 2001, Woods returned to pageantry and competed in the Mission Texas United States of America 2002 pageant as Mission Central Texas.

Mission Texas United States of America 2004
Woods competed for the third time in Mission Texas United States of America 2004, and again only placed in the semifinals.
This was her last attempt at the title, because of age restrictions imposed on contestants. Woods appeared with her then boyfriend Colin Guinn on 5, competing alongside two other beauty pageant contestants: O"Brian and Erika Shay, who was Mission Pennsylvania Teen United States of America in 1995.
Woods and her partner finished the race second out of a group of eleven.
A tire blowout experienced in Dallas, Texas by Colin and Christie"s limousine contributed to their loss on the show. Woods and Guinn were also expecting to be in the All-Star edition of the amazing race. However, Woods was expecting the couple"s first child and therefore could not participate.
