Career
According to Houbraken he specialized in gezelschappen. Portraits of ladies and gentlemen enjoying music or conversation in interior settings. In 1636 he became wine-master of the Guild of Saint Luke.
He was the son of Jacob van der Laemen, who Houbraken thought assisted him with his merry companies.
