Education
Christopher Drury studied at Sydney University, where he took the Bachelor of Laws. The university's law school was inaugurated in 1855 as one of the University of Sydney's first three disciplines, alongside Arts and Medicine, and was established under the university's 1850 founding Act. It began its work in 1859, mainly as a body that examined students rather than taught them, and the first chair was appointed in 1890, marking the start of a full legal academic program.
For much of its history the law school occupied several central Sydney buildings before moving to St James Campus in 1969. The Bachelor of Laws is designed to prepare students for legal practice in New South Wales, combining compulsory units in areas such as public law, property, and legal ethics with elective study.
Drury was admitted to the bar in 1976, in New South Wales.
