At 13 he finished 6th in the world championships in freestyle dancing and two years later he became a member of the band L8R. The group split up in July 2004 when he chose to leave the group after getting into a prominent dance academy in Oslo.
In 2006 Petersen was a contestant on the Norwegian version of "So You Think You Can Dance" (Dansefeber), receiving lots of praise for his charisma and technique. He finally ended up in third place. Now Christopher is a successful dancer working for companies like: Russell Maliphant Dance Company, Batsheva Dance Company and Carte Blanche.
He has worked with choreographers such as Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eyal, Hofesh Shecter and Russell Maliphant.
