Christopher McCleary

Background

His father, Robert McCleary, was a research engineer with Undergraduate Student Government Corporation, and his mother, Gloria McCleary, was a real estate agent with Century 21.

Career

USi, located in Annapolis, Maryland, was founded in 1998 and was the first Application Service Provider that enabled clients to avail themselves of the functionality of packaged software applications like PeopleSoft, Oracle and Siebel without having to purchase the software or operate the computing infrastructure. Prior to USi, McCleary was the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Digex, Incorporated, a national Internet service provider and leader in complex web site management. McCleary serves on the board of directors of Hosting.com, a managed services and colocation provider.

McCleary serves on the city of Baltimore technology incubator board of directors and as chairman of the investment committee.

He was named the Baltimore Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Software in 2000, and was featured in a Forbes magazine cover story on the EGang that have changed the Internet March 2000. McCleary has served on the board of trustees of Anne Arundel Community College in Annapolis Maryland.

McCleary is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.

Achievements

• McCleary was a director Chairman of Radware, Limited., and was the founder of USinternetworking, Incorporated. (USi) which is deemed to be the precursor to the technology category known as Software as a service.
