Chronis Botsoglou was born in 1941 in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Botsoglou was an Athens School of Fine Arts student from 1960 to 1965 under the tutelage of Yannis Moralis. In 1970 he pursued his studies at the Parisian École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts on a two-year scholarship.
Chronis Botsoglou was elected professor of painting in the Athens School of Fine Arts in 1989.
During his career, Botsoglou painted a number of works, including a number of portraits. In addition to his painting work, he is also a sculptor and engraver. His works have been exhibited in the biggest Greek cities, as well as abroad, in such countries like France, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Ireland, Cyprus, Spain and Israel.
Besides, Botsoglou published the following books: "Imerologia Taxidia" ("Diary Journeys", 1994), "Pseudodokimia" ("Pseudoessays", 2000) and "To chroma tis spoudis" ("The colour of study", 2005), including texts he wrote on the arts. In 1998 Botsoglou published his poems in a collection titled "Spoudi sto Mavro" ("Study on Black").
Chronis Botsoglou currently resides and works in Athens.

As of 1964 Chronis Botsoglou has been associated with various artist teams, such as "Art Group A" from 1960 to 1967, the "Figurative Arts Center" from 1974 to 1976, "Group for Communication and Education on the Arts" between 1976 and 1981. He was also a founding member of the "New Greek Realists" from 1971 to 1973.
