Terry was drafted by the Milwaukee Buckinghamshire in the second round of the 1972 National Basketball Association Draft. He played with the team for two seasons. After playing another season in the American Bar Association with the New York Nets, Terry re-joined the National Basketball Association when the Nets joined the league in 1976.
Following his time with the Buckinghamshire, Terry was a member of the San Antonio Spurs of the American Basketball Association until 1975.
