He also released a solo 7" single called "Rock n" Roll won"t go away". Chuck joined the Dickies shortly after their formation in 1977, and served as the band"s multi-instrumentalist, playing mostly keyboards and rhythm guitar, but also the saxophone and harmonica as well as doing backing vocals. On his last studio works with the band, which were released on Stukas Over Disneyland after his death, he also played drums.
By early 1981, he had become dissatisfied with the band and quit, but was persuaded to return for a couple more live shows.
Chuck fell into depression after breaking up with his girlfriend. He died in a hospital the following morning.
