Mcyer-Wichmann developed an anarchist theory °f society, based on the principle of non-violence. Her conviction is that the ideal society cannot be fcached by violent means because such means are 'u principle contradictory to this goal. She joined he International Anti-Militarist Movement and m *920 founded the League of Religious Anarcho-Communists. Her view on criminal law °Pposes the idea of punishment: nobody, not even the state, has any right to punish other People. We need a new theory and a new practice °f education, taking into account factors of ueredity, environment and psychology. She started a movement for abolishing imprisonment, he so called ‘abolitionism’. Instead of punisht^tu the only need of society today is protection a8ainst ‘criminals’. If society is changing, most ^r'rninality, as caused by society itself, will •sappear. From her viewpoint of equality she strongly pleaded the cause of the emancipation of Women.
