Career
Tennant was originally married to Adrian Bethell, then Lionel Tennyson, 3rd Baron Tennyson, and in later years, was the wife of James Montgomery Beck. In her younger years she was often seen at the prestigious Ritz Hotel in London, dining with the likes of Cynthia Asquith, Osbert Sitwell, Gilbert Russell and Maud Nelke. Mary Abbott describes her as a "notorious "bolter"".
