Career

Editor Farm and Ranch, Dallas, Texas, 1886. Editorial writer and managing editor, successively, Galveston News, Galveston Tribune and Houston Post, 1889-1903. Founded Fort Worth Record, October 1903, and was its editor until 1913.

Made tour of Europe in a study of rural cooperation as a member of the American Commission, 1913. Director of extension Agricultural and Mech. College of Texas, 1914-1917.

Assistant secretary of agriculture, United States August 17, 1917-1919. Chairman Globe laboratories, Fort Worth, Texas, since September 1, 1921. Delaware at large Democratic National Convention, 1904.
