Clark, Clarence Don was born on April 16, 1851 in Sandy Creek, Oswego Company, New York, United States. Son of Oratia D. and Laura A. (King) Clark.

Education

Education common schools and Iowa State University. Admitted to bar, 1874. Taught school.

Career

In practice, Delaware Company, Iowa, 1874-1881, Evanston, Wyoming, since 1881. Prosecuting attorney, Uinta Company, Wyoming, 1882-1886. Appointed Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Wyoming, Ty., 1889, but declined.

Member 51st and 52d Congresses (1889-1893). United States senator, 1895-1899, to fill vacancy caused by failure of legislature to elect. Reëlected for terms, 1899-1905, 1905-1911, 1911-1917.

Chairman Committee on Judiciary and member Committee on Finance, Public Lands, Railroads, etc. Appointed member International Joint Commission, July 1919, retired, May 1929. Home: Evanston, Wyo.
