Became vice-president and business manager Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, 1919, now executive vice president and general business manager. Director Mechanics Perpetual Building and Loan Association, Charlotte (now Home Federal Savings and Loan Association), since 1910.

Secretary Mecklenburg County Draft Board, 1917. Vice chairman County Liberty Loan campaign, World War. Chairman Draft Board Northern 5, County of Mecklenburg, City of Charlotte, since 1940.
