Career
Ramsay had an advertising background, working for Universal International and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which he joined in 1958. He became assistant to Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer studio president Robert O"Brien in April 1963. When Robert M. Weitman resigned as head of production in 1967, Ramsay took over.
While at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer he attempted to make a film version of Tai Pan.
In 1969 Ramsay became a vice president of administration for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. He stayed in this position until late 1972, when he resigned from the studio and joined Universal the following year as a vice president in charge of advertising. In 1976 he became a vice president of Master of Computer Applications and stayed there until his death.
