Claude Sabourin

He was elected as leader of the Green Party of Quebec in November 2010. The provincial party"s president from 2004 to 2006, he has also written a book entitled, Le Parti Vert: Pour une politique du 21e siècle. Sabourin was a party worker and part-time school teacher when he sought the party"s leadership.
In January 2011, he called for a moratorium on the harvesting of shale gas.

Sabourin has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the Université du Québec à Montréal. He joined the Green Party in 2002 and has been a party candidate in two federal and three provincial elections.
