Rinner lives at Ottmarsheim in Alsace in France. She is an amateur astronomer who had a minor planet Rinner named after her in 1999. The minor planet was discovered on 9 September 1999 by L.Bernasconi.
She discovered three comets using a 0.5 metre robotic telescope located in Morocco.
There were seven awards that year and they shared $42,000 between them.
