Career
Bastow is a columnist for Fairfax Media"s Daily Life. She is also a regular contributor to The Age, Sydney Morning Herald, Guardian Australia and The Big Issue. A longtime presenter on respected Melbourne community radio station 3RRR, until 2011 Bastow presented Transference, a weekly radio show.
She has worked in television, including on the Channel 31 music criticism panel show Dancing About Architecture.
In 2009, Bastow was named as part of the judging panel of the Australian Music Prize. Along with Brenna Glazebrook she wrote and performed The Audition at the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
lieutenant followed 2009"s Club XX, which The Age called "mocking, self-deprecating and funny". Her most recent live work was the 2014 Melbourne Fringe Festival show Escape From Los Angeles The show will be revived at the 2015 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
