Cliff "Ticker" Inglis was an English darts player from Plymouth, Devon.

Career

Inglis" prime years were in the mid-1970s. The following year he was a Unicorn World Darts Championship finalist, and was runner-up in the Indoor League - which was televised by Yorkshire television - to Conrad Daniels. On 11 November 1975 at the Broomfield Working Men"s Club in Devon, England, Inglis entered the Guinness Book of Records by throwing a magnificent 19-dart 1001 game, smashing all previous records to date: 160-180-140-180-121-180-40.

Cliff averaged an unbelievable 52.68 points per dart (15805 three-dart average), despite getting lucky with his first dart, hitting a D20 instead of the triple.

BDO International major finals: 1 (1 title).

Achievements

  • In 1974, Inglis won the inaugural Phonogram World Masters, defeating Harry Heenan 3-2 in the final. Foreign two successive years in the mid-1970s, he won the Manitoba of the Match award playing for England in the Home Internationals.
