Joined 6th (Royal Warwickshire) Regiment, 1869. Served Afghan Campaign, 1879-1880. Orderly Officer to Brigade-General Palliser.

Commander 1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire in Egyptian Soudan Campaign, 1898. Present at engagements of Atbara and Omdurman (despatches, medal with clasp, Companion of the Bath).
Retired, 1907. Decorated for Egyptian Soudan Campaign.
