Career
Born in Gorey, County Wexford, McDonald first excelled at hurling during his schooling at Gorey Community School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of fifteen when he first linked up with the Wexford minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2013 championship.
At club level McDonald plays with Naomh Éanna.
