Báez speaks Spanish, English, German and Arabic. She currently works as an economist and a professional model. This was Báez" first attempt at the title.
Báez represented Ecuador at the pageant on Saturday, November 9, 2013 in Moscow, Russia where she placed the semifinals and eventually finished as 2nd Runner-Up.
Baez is only the third woman representing Ecuador to place in the semifinals. The first was in 1981 with Lucia Vinueza who finished in the Top 12.
The second was in 2004 (which was held in Ecuador) with Susana Rivadeneira who finished in the Top 10.
Báez, who stands 1.75 m (5 ft 9 in) tall, competed as a representative of Pichincha, one of the 15 contestants in her country"s national beauty pageant,, broadcast live on March 8, 2013 from Guayaquil, where she obtained the Best Figure award, and became the eventual winner, gaining the right to represent Ecuador at This is the highest placement Ecuador has achieved at Mission Universe so far.
