Taught school, Harding Beauty, McMairy Company, Tennessee and continued teaching to the outbreak of the World War. Assistant Principal, Bethel Springs, High School, 1914-1916. Principal of the Ramer High School, 1916-1924, except during World War.
Resigned as Principal of Ramer High School, 1917 to enter the Army as Private, promoted to Sgt. in Company C., 117 Infantry. 30 Division., Student in Officers Training School, Louisiana Val Bonne, France. Returned to resume principalship of Ramer High School, 1919;eleced Company Superintendent Education of McMairy Company, 1924, re-elected, 1926.
Historian of McMairy Company Post No. 162 and now Post Adjutant and dele, to each State Legion Convention since 1925. State Executive Committeeman, 1927.
