Cornelia Klinger began her philosophical re" search with a thesis on the political function ot the transcendental philosophical theory of freedom. Her current work is concentrated on aesthetics and feminism. She regards aesthetics and aesthetic theory as one category of the symbolic order that has become more important in the second wave of feminism, with •he recognition that not all inequality is material. She holds that to discover and reveal those underlying structures of the relation of gender, structures of difference and duality, is one of the •asks of feminist theory and feminist philosophy. To what extent these structures of duality can be overcome eventually will have to be clarified by future philosophical research.
