He was Chief of Staff Military Command of the Oil Fields and then Deputy Commandant of Odessa in 1941, General Officer Commanding 8th Cavalry Division and then at disposition of the Cavalry Corps in 1942, Commandant Cavalry Instruction Center and then General Officer Commanding 5th Cavalry Division, and became Vice Chief General Staff in 1945.
