Garlington, Creswell was born on June 23, 1887 in Rock Island, Illinois, United States. Son of Ernest Albert and Anna Bowers (Buford) Garlington.

Education

Educated St. Paul’s School, Concord, N.H., 1902-1906. Bachelor of Science, United States Military Academy, 1910. Graduate Engineer School, 1912, Ecole Superieure de Guerre, Paris, 1923.

Distinguished graduated from Command and General staff schedul, 1925. Graduated from Army War College, 1928.

Career

Command. Second lieutenant, Corps of Engineers, United States Army, 1910, and advanced through the grades to temporary brigadier general. Temporary colonel, Corps of Engineers, 1918. Corndg. general, Engineer Replacement Training Center, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, since January 20, 1943.
