She competed in the Mission Teen United States of America 1997 pageant held in South Padre Island, Texas, where she was awarded the title of Mission Photogenic. She later competed at Mission Alabama United States of America 2005, where she placed second runner-up. Of the six former Mission Teen United States of America delegates competing, Duren competed in the earliest Teen pageant.
Duren placed fourth runner-up in the nationally broadcast pageant, equalling Floridas placement of the year before when Melissa Witek also placed fourth runner-up.
On Thursday, May 4, 2006 she appeared on The Daily Show in a segment by Dan Bakkedahl "Doctor Spin, Medicine Woman" on pharmaceuticals" efforts in recommending more expensive, less effective drugs over generics through somewhat unethical practices, including the practice of hiring attractive sales representatives (primarily women). Duren graduated from A. Crawford Mosley High School in 1999 and went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in 2003.
One month after graduating college she secured a job in pharmaceutical sales at First Horizon Pharmaceutical Corporation, but she is now a local entertainment television hostess/spokeswoman. While at the University of Alabama, besides cheerleading, Cristin Duren was president of her sorority, Phi Mu, and participated in various community projects.
Her interests include shopping, dancing, listening to music, horseback riding, wakeboarding, Alabama football games, and wardrobe designing.
Duren won her first pageant title in 1997 when she became Mission Florida Teen United States of America 1997. The pageant was won by Shelly Moore of Tennessee Duren first competed for a Mission United States of America state title in 2002, where she placed in the top fifteen of the Mission Florida United States of America pageant. Six months later, in July 2005, Duren won the Mission Florida United States of America 2006 title, becoming the first Mission Florida Teen United States of America to win the Mission Florida United States of America title. Duren represented Florida in the Mission United States of America 2006 pageant televised live from Baltimore, Maryland in April 2006. She was one of three former Mission Teen United States of America deelgates to make the top five, the others being Tara Conner, Mission Kentucky Teen United States of America 2002 who won the Mission United States of America 2006 title, and Stacy Offenberger, who was Mission Ohio Teen United States of America 1998. In the Mission United States of America 2006 pageant she also won the Mission Photogenic award, becoming the first woman to win this award at both Mission Teen United States of America and Mission United States of America. Duren one of 26 Mission United States of America delegates who appeared on a Mission United States of America special of Deal or Number Deal in April, 2006.
