Career
Darling played three seasons (2004-2007) of Commonwealth of Independent States college hockey with the University of Waterloo in the UOA West conference. He was named to the UOA West First All-Star Team in all three years that he played. On March 7, 2007, Darling signed with the Reading Royals and played two games with the American Hockey League (AHL) team before the end of the 2006-2007 season.
He went on to play three more seasons of minor league hockey before retiring following the 2009-2010 season spent in the ECHL with the Ontario Reign.
