Career
Born in Ipswich, Suffolk, Williams was on the books of local side Ipswich Town from the age of 10. He was released from the club in the summer of 2008 without being offered a professional contract and became part of the Glenn Hoddle Academy in Spain, playing for Jerez Industrial as part of his development. Williams signed a short-term contract with Conference South side Chelmsford City in January 2011 before a short time playing in South Africa.
In 2012, Williams joined Isthmian League Premier Division side, later signing a contract extension through to the end of the 2013-2014 season.
His progress at the club had been tracked by Luton Town manager John Still, who had a reputation for discovering talent in the lower reaches of the non-League game. On 15 May 2014, Williams was signed by Luton on a two-year professional contract, with the club opting to pay Lowestoft a small fee in recognition of its role in the player"s development.
He struggled with injuries throughout the season, making only three appearances, and was placed on the transfer list in May 2015.
