Cyril Axelrod

Career

Despite his deafness and later deaf blindness Fr Axelrod has worked tirelessly to help disabled people and be an inspiration to many. His life is described in autobiography published in 2005: And the Journey Begins ().

Achievements

• He has been made Officer of the Order of the British Empire (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in 2014 for his services to the disabled and is also notable as a champion for deaf and deafblind people.
