Mills, Cyrus Taggart was born on May 4, 1819 in Paris, New York, United States. Son of William Mills.

Education

Graduate William College, 1844. Graduate Union Theological Seminary, 1847.

Career

Ordained by Third Presbytery of New York, 1848. Sailed soon after ordination to India under appointment American Board Commissioners of Foreign Missions. Took charge of Batticetta Seminary, Ceylon, 1848-1859.

Went to Hawaiian Islands where he took charge Oahu College, near Honolulu, 1860-1864, put college on self-supporting basis. Established Mills Seminary in California, 1871. Formed Pomona Land & Water Company, 1882, president 1882-1884.
