Dac-Buu Cao has had over 25 years of professional experience and is currently Director of Product Development & Support Systems at Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of Siemens Corporation. He has worked in software development and IT management for multi-national corporations such as Eaton Corp., McDonnell Douglas, EDS, Siemens, etc. and also served as a software consultant for telecommunication companies and other industries in the '80s.
Dr. Cao graduated in Computer Science from the University of California, Irvine, attended the post-graduate program in Information Science at Claremont Graduate University, and earned his Ph.D. in Information Technology from Capella University. His research interests include software engineering methodology and software quality, and his papers have appeared on professional publications such as Agile Development and Journal of Systems and Software. His book "Critical Success Factors of Agile Software Development Projects" was published in 2008. He is a member of the New York Academy of Sciences.
Besides his professional career, Dr. Cao has also served as an online volunteer for the United Nations. He was nominated for the 2004 UN Online Volunteer of the Year Award thanks to his volunteer projects for the UN.
