Career
Played in Osaka. In 1801 he performed for the first time in Edo. Played at the Minamiza theater in Kyoto and subsequently became famous as a female impersonator. In 1814 he visited Edo again. With his good looks and voice, he was especially acclaimed when he played the parts of young housewives. In his late years, he also played romantic male roles.
