Career
Priest of the Yakushiji Temple in Owari Province (Aichi Prefecture), he not only restored his temple to prosperity but also originated the Majima school of ophthal mology. According to legend, he dreamed that be was given a book on ophthalmology from a foreigner and experienced what was written in the book with great success. Patients flocked to his temple as his fame spread to many provinces.
