Career
Stetina has a son that also became a cyclist (Peter Stetina, current professional for Trek-Segafredo). In 2007 Stetina was inducted into the United States. Bicycling Hall of Fame.

He is a former United States. National Road Champion and two-time winner of one of America"s greatest bicycle races, the Coors Classic of Boulder, Colorado. He also won the Mountain. Washington Bicycle Grand Prix. Stetina hails from an Indianapolis, Indiana-based cycling family which includes three brothers Wayne, Joel, and Troy (Wayne Stetina was also 1976-1977 United States National Road champion). Dale"s father Roy was also a state cycling champion of Indiana. Stetina won the Tour of Costa Rica, in December 1980. He won 3 stages, during the event, showing during the final stage ( Perez Zeledón - San José, 188 km) a great sport level Winning with a big time difference of 30 minutes with respect to the second place of the stage.
