Career
Džombić started out at Football Club Basel in 2003 and was loaned out to Swiss Challenge League outfit Football Club Wil in the 2004/05 season to let his talents development When he returned to Saint Jakob-Park, he failed to break into the first-team and was released by the club in 2007. He then signed for Liechtenstein"s Football Club Vaduz on a free transfer and helped them earn promotion to the Swiss Super League in 2008.
He scored the first goal of his professional career in a 2–1 defeat to Football Club Sion at Rheinpark Stadion on 16 August 2008.
International career
Džombić capped for Swiss youth teams before switched to Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played for the U21 team in 2006 Union of European Football Associations European Under-21 Football Championship qualification.
