Lusk entered National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing in 1999, when he drove the America Online/Kleenex Chevy for three races National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series. He qualified on the outside pole at Portland Speedway and after three starts, he attracted the eye of Jimmy Spencer. In his first Truck Series start, he started 21st and finished a solid 11th position. In 2006 he drove in the last five races of the season for Woodward Racing with a best finish of 17th at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
He finished 41st in points. Lusk was scheduled race a few races in Nextel Cup in James Hylton"s #58 car in 2007.
Lusk competed in the Associate of the Royal College of Art 200 Race at Daytona on Saturday, February 10, 2007 but did not make any Cup starts.
