Dan Franck was born on October 17, 1952, in Paris, France.
Franck studied sociology at Sorbonne University in 1970.
Franck started his career as a novelist. In 1991, his novel La Séparation won the 1991 Prix Renaudot and was made into a movie, La Séparation. Since then, Franck also works as an actor and screenwriter.
Dan Franck is best known as an actor and novelist, who has written fifteen books and whose works have been published in twenty-eight countries. His works as a writer include such novels as The Greek Calendars, The Lady of the Evening, The Seuil Separation, Roman Negro, The Company and his most recent novel Scenario. During his career, he also wrote in collaboration with Jean Vautrin Les Aventures de Boro series, which include 8 volumes.
As an actor, Franck is particularly known for his roles in such films as Marseille, Carlos and La Vie devant elles.
