Career
A product of Hartlepool United"s youth system, Having previously been at Sunderland"s Academy for four years and Wallsend Boys Club,Jones established himself in the youth team in the 2012-2013 season making 23 appearances for the youth side and nine appearances for the reserves. Jones" form saw him offered his first professional contract in April 2013. Jones" progress was hampered after a knee injury in October 2013 which saw Dan ruled out for two months with a meniscus cartilage tear.
Jones made his first-team debut in March 2014, as a substitute for the injured Darren Holden, in a 4-2 defeat to Mansfield Town.
On 22 May 2014, Jones signed a new contract of an undisclosed length. Upon new Hartlepool manager Ronnie Moore"s arrival at the club, Jones began to get a lot more games in defence alongside Michael Duckworth, Neil Austin, David Mirfin and Scott Harrison.
