In 1968 Quigley captained the team to the All-Ireland title. At club level Quigley is a three-time Leinster medalist with Rathnure.

During that time he won one All-Ireland medal, three Leinster medals and one National Hurling League medal. He also won an U21 All Ireland medal in 1965 and a colleges All-Ireland with Saint Peter"s in 1962.Winner of the Texaco Player of the Year in 1968. He has also won nine county championship medals.
Quigley made his first appearance for the Senior team in 1962/63 National League and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement after the 1972 championship.
