Stratou studied fine arts at the Street Martins College between 1983 and 1988.
She works as a part time professor at the Royal Academy of Fine arts in Athene. She represented Greece at the forty-eights Venice Biennale. She also represented Greece in 2001 at the first Valencia Biennale and in 2004 she represented Greece at Transcultures in Belgium.
Together with three other artists (DAST Arteam) she created in 2010 Desert Breath in the El Gouna dessert.
During that project they created 10 hectares off landscape art Vital Space is based upon the principle that artworks can change the world for the better.
Her work has been on display in the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Εθνικό Μουσείο Σύγχρονης Τέχνης) in Athene. Installations, Danae Stratou, Open Studio, Athene, 1996.
