Career
One of only a few rowers in the challenges 173-year history to do southern Growing up in the coastal town of Shoal Bay on the central coast of NSW. He showed promise as a young swimmer. He was schooled as a boarder Saint Joseph"s College, Hunters Hill where he took up rowing in his latter years with his senior rowing done from the Sydney Rowing Club and University of Sydney Boat Club.
He attended the University of Sydney where he obtained a Masters of Commerce in International Business and Marketing.
He also holds a Bachelor of Education. In 2002 Dan received a Sydney University Blue for the sport of Rowing.
A state and Australian amateur heavy weight representative. After the 2000 Olympics games Burke turned his hand to Yacht racing.
In 2003 he competed in the Rolex IP Multimedia Subsystem maxi world championships in Capri Italy.
He was a crew member aboard "Bumblebee 5" finishing 5th.
