Career
Radcliffe founded IVHQ in 2007 and has since expanded his interests into farming and multiple online enterprises including Safari Reviews and China Social Headquarters. In 2014, Radcliffe was named Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year at the New Zealand edition of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, in recognition for the success and global impact of International Volunteer Headquarters. He represented New Zealand at the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in June 2015 where he was also inducted into the World Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. Radcliffe grew up on a farm operated by his family in the rural community in Uruti, Northern Taranaki. He attended Uruti School and was a boarding student at New Plymouth Boys" High School.
He graduated from the University of Otago in 2006 with Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Business degrees.
Having gained a place in the graduate employment program of a New Zealand corporation, Radcliffe quit after three days and returned to his family’s farm. He travelled extensively and volunteered on a teaching program in rural Kenya for three months during 2006, and upon returning home to New Zealand Radcliffe founded a business, from a bedroom at his family’s farm.
IVHQ"s product offering is volunteer travel with low fees, and the business has grown quickly since Radcliffe started it in 2007. IVHQ now operates in more than 30 countries and has placed more than 43,000 volunteers abroad.
The business employs more than 20 people in New Plymouth and over 300 people work under the IVHQ brand globally.
Outside of the community development focus of, Radcliffe has also led the development of a number of philanthropic initiatives including. IVHQ Athletes in Schools, the Taranaki Rugby Football Union Volunteer of the Year Awards and a number of global community development grants invested through the IVHQ Fund.
