(Prince of Fire: Gabriel Allon, art restorer and spy, is b...)
Prince of Fire: Gabriel Allon, art restorer and spy, is back in Venice, when a terrible explosion in Rome leads to a disturbing personal revelation: the existence of a dossier in terrorist hands that strips away his secrets, lays bare his history. Hastily recalled home to Israel, drawn once more into the heart of a service he had once forsaken, Allon finds himself stalking an elusive master terrorist. The Messenger: Gabriel Allon is recovering from his grueling showdown with a Palestinian master terrorist, when terrorism comes to find him once again. An al-Qaeda suspect is killed in London, and photographs are found on his computer - photographs that lead Israeli intelligence to suspect that al-Qaeda is planning one of its most audacious attacks ever, straight at the heart of the Vatican. The Secret Servant: Gabriel Allon is summoned once more by his masters to undertake what appears to be a routine assignment: travel to Amsterdam to purge the archives of a murdered Dutch terrorism analyst who also happened to be an asset of Israeli intelligence. But once in Amsterdam, Gabriel soon discovers a conspiracy of terror festering in the city’s Islamic underground, a plot that is about to explode on the other side of the English Channel, in the middle of London.

(The Mark of the Assassin: When a commercial airliner is b...)
The Mark of the Assassin: When a commercial airliner is blown out of the sky off the East Coast, the CIA scrambles to find the perpetrators. A body is discovered near the crash site with three bullets to the face: the calling card of a shadowy international assassin. Only agent Michael Osbourne has seen the markings before - on a woman he once loved. Now, it's personal for Osbourne. Consumed by his dark obsession with the assassin, he's willing to risk his family, his career, and his life - to settle a score... The Unlikely Spy: "In wartime," Winston Churchill wrote, "truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies." For Britain's counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agents imaginable - including a history professor named Alfred Vicary. Handpicked by Churchill himself, Vicary must stop an unknown spy from uncovering the Allied battle plans for D-Day. The Nazis, however, have also chosen their operative carefully. Posing as a war widow and hospital volunteer, Catherine Blake is under direct orders from Hitler to seal the German victory – no matter what the cost.

(A commercial jetliner is blown out of the skies over Long...)
A commercial jetliner is blown out of the skies over Long Island. A body is found during the recovery operation with three bullet holes to the face -- "the mark of the assassin" has just surfaced but his identity remains a mystery, even to the most notorious underground figures. Enter Michael Osbourne, a senior CIA "case worker" (the preferred term for "spy").. Osbourne recognizes the assassin's mark as that of the man who killed his former lover and many high profile political figures. As he gets closer and closer to finding the killer's identity, Osbourne becomes more entangled in the assassin's web, and unknowingly, places his life, and that of his entire family's on the line. Silva masterfully includes all the cookie cutter elements that genre fans want in a really good read: a solid (and very visual) education of international locales, inside details of covert activities, rapid pace story telling, masterful plotting, lots of chasing, twisting and turning...but he adds something even more spectacular: a romantic undercurrent that humanizes the roles of the protagonist AND antagonist. Silva beautifully weaves in two riveting love stories right under the surface of the main plot. I have a couple of pet peeves (Elizabeth's whining throughout the first half of the book was particulary annoying) but they were immediately squashed as I raced throughout the night toward the last page. If you enjoy fast-paced spy thrillers that take you on a whirlwind of espionage action all around the globe, then this is the book for you. The pace is relentless and the writing is flawless.

( Moscow Rules The death of a journalist leads Gabriel A...)
Moscow Rules The death of a journalist leads Gabriel Allon to Russia, where he finds that, in terms of spycraft, even he has something to learn. He’s playing by Moscow rules now. It’s not the grim Moscow of Soviet times but a new Moscow, where power resides once more behind the walls of the Kremlin and critics are ruthlessly silenced. A Moscow where new Stalinists are plotting to reclaim an empire lost and challenge the dominance of its U.S. enemy. Ivan Kharkov, a former KGB colonel, is an arms dealer―and he is about to deliver Russia’s most sophisticated weapons to al-Qaeda. Unless Allon can learn the time and place of the delivery, the world will see the deadliest terror attacks since 9/11. The Defector Six months after Moscow Rules, Allon has resumed his honeymoon with wife, Chiara. But his world is again thrown into turmoil with news from London. Former Russian intelligence officer Grigori Bulganov, who saved Allon’s life in Moscow, has vanished. British intelligence thinks was a double agent all along, but Allon knows better. He also knows he made a promise. In the days to come, Allon and his team of operatives find themselves in a deadly duel with the ruthless Ivan Kharkov. It will take Allon from a quiet mews in London to the snowbound forests of Russia. Faced with losing the one thing he holds most dear, Allon will be tested in ways he never imagined possible. And his life will never be the same.
