Her victory in the 46th edition of Mission International, held in Beijing, China, earned Venezuela its fifth title in the pageant"s history, making it the most successful country to date. She bettered 51 other delegates to wear the pageant"s newly unveiled crystal crown, rather than the traditional pearl crown. Another alumnus, Marianne Puglia, who finished in the bottom half of the top ten, placed third runner-up in Mission Earth 2006. On October 15, 2007, Di Giacomo crowned Mission Priscila Perales of Mexico Mission International 2007. The pageant was held in Tokyo, Japan.

Achievements

She was elected Mission Venezuela international 2005 and was crowned Mission International 2006 in China. Di Giacomo received as a prize a ¥3,000,000 check, a Maki Diamond tiara with 637 diamonds and a Yasokichi Tokuda III kutani blue ceramic trophy. Di Giacomo represented Barinas in the Mission Venezuela 2005 pageant. The 2005 edition of the national pageant can now claim two winners of the "Big Four" international pageants, namely Di Giacomo and Alexandra Braun, Mission Earth 2005, both of whom placed behind Jictzad Viña and Susan Carrizo (who in turn both failed to enter the semifinals of Mission Universe 2006 and Mission World 2005, respectively). Prior to winning Mission International, Di Giacomo also competed in Mission World Coffee Pageant in Guatemala, where she placed as a finalist and won the Mission Photogenic title.
