She represented Texas in the national pageant held at Atlantis Paradise Island, Bahamas on July 16, 2011, where she was crowned Mission Teen United States of America 2011 by previous titleholder Kamie Crawford.

Doty first started her pageant career in the National American Mission system where she won the title of Mission Texas in several age divisions. Doty won the Mission Texas Teen United States of America title on November 28, 2010, the first state titleholder from the Rio Grande Valley. Doty"s win was Texas" second, following that of Christie Lee Woods in 1996.
Doty graduated in the top ten of her class at Harlingen High School South in 2011 and was a member of the National Honor Society. As of 2011, she attended Texas Christian University and is a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
