During World War I joined Russian Army, then served with Yugoslav Volunteer Corps at Odessa. After 1917 February Revol joined anti-military Yugoslav Revol Union. July 1917 took part in storming of Petrograd Winter Palace.
From fall 1917 commander, 1st Serbian Soviet Detachment, Yckatcrinoslav. February—August 1918 commanded another Serbian detachment. AugNov 1918 commander, 1st Yugoslav Communist Rcgt near Tsaritsyn.
Late 1918 commander, Crimean Cavalry Rcgt. 1919 commander. Special Cavalry Brigade, 14th Army. October 1920 commander, 2nd, then 1st Cavalry Brigade, 6th Division, 1st Cavalry Army in battles against General Wrangel's troops on Southern Front.
Also commander, 7lh and 12th Cavalry Division. 1934 commander, 4th Cavalry Corps, 1935-1937 commander, 3rd Cavalry Corps, Belorussian Military district. 1936 elected member, Central Committee, Belorussian Communist Party and Belorussian Central Executive Committee.
1937 arrested by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
