Career
Chapman played as a defensive central midfielder. Danny Chapman started at Millwall but failed to earn a first team football on a regular basis which lead to his mover to Leyton Orient. At Leyton Orient Chapman did get first team football for two years, making 78 league appearances for the club, but was eventually released in the summer of 1997 and he subsequently dropped into the non-league.
He joined Conference side Welling following the release, Chapman spent three years he but he left to join fellow Conference side Dover after Welling were relegated from the Conference in 2000.
Chapman left Dover in March 2003 to join rival Folkestone, however he would return to Dover in the summer of 2003. After one season at Dover he left to join Eastbourne Borough.
He would return to Dover after one season with Eastbourne Borough where he would eventually be a losing finalists in two consecutive seasons in the Isthmian League Division One South play-official Chapman left Dover to join fellow Isthmian League Division One South side Cray Wanderers.
In his first season with Cray Wanderers Chapman would again become a losing finalists in the Isthmian League Division One South play-official
The following season it was fourth time lucky for Chapman as Cray Wanderers would be promoted after winning the Isthmian League Division One South play-official This ended up being Chapmans final match as he retired after lieutenant
