Career
Early career
Green started his career as a youth player for Charlton Athletic before being released at the age of 15. Green then signed for Northampton Town, earning his first professional contract, but moved to Nottingham Forest a year later. In 2008 Green was released by Forest and signed for Conference South club Bishop"s Stortford.
Dagenham & Redbridge
He signed for Dagenham & Redbridge in May 2009 on a free transfer.
He was replaced in the 75th minute as a substitute for Wesley Thomas. He scored 14 goals from midfield, including one at Wembley Stadium to help Dagenham to promotion to League One via the play-offs.
On 25 July 2010, he and team-mate Scott Doe committed themselves to Dagenham by signing new three-year contracts. Charlton Athletic
On 29 June 2011, Green was signed by his former youth club Charlton Athletic for a fee of £350,000, signing a three-year contract.
Green thereafter struggled to hold down a first-team position.
On 2 September 2013, Green agreed a six-week loan deal with MK Dons. On 22 May 2014, he was released from Charlton Athletic after making 74 first-team appearances for the club Milton Keynes Dons
One day later, Green returned to MK Dons, signing a two-year contract.
Luton Town
On 3 July 2015, MK Dons agreed to cancel Green"s contract a year early.
A day later he signed a two-year contract with League Two club Luton Town, linking back up with manager John Still who had first signed him from Bishop"s Stortford in 2009. He scored his first goals for Luton in consecutive games, opening the scoring in a 2–1 victory over Leyton Orient in the Football League Trophy on 1 September 2015, before netting the final goal in a 3–1 away league victory at Cambridge United four days later.
