Naughton was absent from Widnes"s 0-19 defeat by Warrington in the 1950 Challenge Cup final during the 1949-1950 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 6 May 1950, due to being on the 1950 Great Britain Lions tour tour to Australia, and New Zealand, though he did not participate in any of the test matches. Naughton played Left-prop, id est (that is) number 8, in Warrington"s 4-4 draw with Halifax in the 1954 Challenge Cup final during the 1953-1954 season at Wembley Stadium, London on Saturday 1 May 1954, and played Left-prop in the 8-4 victory over Halifax in the 1954 Challenge Cup final replay during the 1953-1954 season at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Wednesday 5 May 1954, in front of a record crowd of 102,575 or more.
Danny Naughton was the younger brother of Widnes and Warrington"s second-row John "Johnny" Naughton (birth registered January→March 1920 in Prescot district), and Teresa "Tess" Naughton (birth registered during October→December 1921 in Prescot district), and the older brother of rugby league football player, Albert "Ally" Naughton.
