Career
He is a serial entrepreneur in high tech industry with extensive management experience introducing and developing innovative concepts into the mainstream markets. A French citizen, he holds a Master of Science degree in Robotics Engineering from École Centrale Paris. After his studies, he entered Schulmberger Computer-aided Design/The Communications Advertising and Marketing division Schlumberger in 1985, as an Application Engineer. he later moved to sales and sales management, and was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Applicon, a Schlumberger company, with a turn-over of $10M in 1990, at age of 28.
Applicon was later acquired by UGS, now being Siemens Product Lifecycle Management Software.
In 1992 he joined Parametric Technology Corporation as Country Manager, France, Belgium, Switzerland, where he developed the business of this at-the-time United States startup in Europe, growing his country’s revenue from $4M in 1992 to $27M in 1995. Darius is also a serial entrepreneur.
He co-founded several startups, raised more than $17M for these companies that he usually served as Chief Executive Officer. Among them, Genifer Société Anonyme, got acquired by Saqqara Systems Incorporated. of Sunnyvale, California in 1998, PTC France has become a $150M business unit of PTC, 01consulting and Altadyn are growth companies. In April 2012, he appeared on British Broadcasting Corporation World News with an interview in British Broadcasting Corporation"s Click program on innovative technologies, in which his company Altadyn was featured.
Darius Lahoutifard prefaced the book "Virtual Leader" and authored the French book "Entreprendre aux United States of America" which provides a comparative analysis between the United States and France, in various matters, while serving as a guide for European entrepreneurs in the United States.
